Wil Harkey
Co-founder, Portfolio Manager
Wil Harkey is the Co-founder, Portfolio Manager, and Managing Member of the General Partner at Nantahala’s portfolios. Before establishing Nantahala in 2004, he served as a Senior Research Analyst at Sagamore Hill Capital Management, LP, an alternative investment fund based in Greenwich, CT, from March 2002 to January 2004. During his time at Sagamore Hill, he gained expertise in equities, derivatives, and fixed-income securities. Prior to that, from August 2001 to January 2002, Mr. Harkey was a Research Analyst at SAM Investments, a convertible arbitrage fund in Chicago, Illinois. From mid-1999 to June 2001, he worked at Village Ventures Inc., a venture capital firm in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Mr. Harkey graduated from Williams College in 2000 with a B.S., double majoring in Economics and Mathematics.
Dan Mack
Co-founder, Portfolio Manager
Dan Mack is a Co-founder, Portfolio Manager and Managing Member of the General Partner of Nantahala’s portfolios. Prior to joining Nantahala in 2007, Mr. Mack was a Portfolio Manager at Sagamore Hill Capital Management, LP, an alternative investment fund in Greenwich, ConnecticutCT. From July 2002 to December 2006, Mr. Mack worked in various roles at Sagamore Hill where he developed expertise in equities, derivatives and fixed-income securities, as well as the use of quantitative and fundamental financial models to analyze these securities. Mr. Mack graduated summa cum laude from the The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania University of Pennsylvania in 2002 with a B.S. in Economics (Finance concentration) from The Wharton School and a B.S. in Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering in Computer Science from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Jonathan Buba
Senior Analyst
Jonathan Buba is a Senior Analyst at Nantahala and a Non-Managing Member of the General Partner. Prior to joining Nantahala in 2011, Mr. Buba worked as an Analyst at Och-Ziff Capital Management where he focused on special situations in emerging markets from the firm’s New York and London offices. At Och-Ziff, Mr. Buba developed experience investing across the capital structure in both public and private companies. Previously, Mr. Buba was an Associate at Spinnaker Ventures, a San Francisco, California-based venture capital firm. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2000 where he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and received an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2007.
